This. Is. MURDER.
I can’t believe this is a thing that happens. I say that as a figure of speech because this is a thing that REPEATEDLY happens.
It is heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, and INFURIATING.
FACTS: George Floyd is dead. George Floyd was murdered. The guy with the knee on his neck did it. The other people in the same uniform are accomplices.
I will keep my other thoughts at this moment to myself. I need to go for a walk and take about a million deep breaths.
ALL of those people who used to be police officers need to punished to the fullest extent of the law they were supposed to uphold.
And don’t even come into my comments with anything that appears in the slightest to be a defense of these people. That is a sure-fire way to get yourself blocked.
A disturbing video showing an officer kneeling on the unarmed man’s neck has drawn outrage.
Unfortunately George Floyd is another victim in a long line of police misconduct and brutality in America. The actions by those Minneapolis PD officers is criminal, and I truly believe they need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. My heart goes out to that mans family and the community who struggle with this every day. I don’t know what that feels like, and I can’t imagine the stress it causes. I know not all law enforcement officers act this way, but unfortunately the acts of a few can taint the view of the whole.
While Mayor Frey took action quickly in terminating these officers, they should be held in jail as any other citizen who murders someone is.
Today is a sad day in Minneapolis and America.
A friend of mine posted the video about this and it was even more disturbing to watch then #AhmaudArbery. This is wrong!! This needs to change!! It seems that justice is going to be swifter then #AhmaudArbery but this should not have happened!!! Even if he was guilty of the “forgery” call this is excessive!
I picked this article because it was the only one I could find that actually payed respect to who George Floyd was. My heart and prayers go out to George’s family and friends.
White police officer in Minneapolis puts knee on neck of Black man, while being videotaped, until George Floyd dies. White woman named #AmyCooper calls New York cops on Black man, Christian Cooper, because she felt “threatened.” Racism is sick, evil; so are those who practice it.
