WACO – TEXAS (MARKET NEWS) Editors Note:
We need a national shelter in place for two weeks. Every person in Congress should be calling for it. The patchwork is not working. Given the exponential growth of Covid-19, we need to act to save lives. Now. Everyone of us in the federal government is accountable.
Waco Mayor Kyle Deaver issued a shelter-in-place order Monday, making it the first city in Texas to do so.
Waco officials are following the le
d of Dallas County, which issued a similar order over the weekend. The order goes into effect by midnight Monday and prohibits Waco residents from leaving their houses except for “essential activities,” including trips to grocery stores, pharmacies or health care facilities.
However many states and cities are yet to call fr Shelter in place, the Governor of Kentucky admitted that in recent post on twitter.
We have not implemented Shelter in Place, but it is not as scary as it sounds. You can still take walks & shop for groceries. It only builds on social distancing, which we are practicing. Any step we take will allow you to provide basic needs. #TogetherKy #TeamKentucky ^AB

And the following is how people reacted to this news.
When states started issuing shelter in place orders, we made sure to stock up for 3-4 weeks at a minimum. That was almost a week ago. Our state’s order goes into effect tonight, and the stores are swamped. We’re safe.

“A successful shelter in place means like you’re going to feel it was all for nothing–and you’d be right. And nothing means that nothing happened to your family.”

“Well what’s the point of a shelter in place? Everyone’s already staying home”
No they’re not. We have the same or more customers than we normally do. Ppl are at our store b/c they’re bored, or b/c walmart and hyvee have nothing.
