I’m extremely saddened and heartbroken to hear of the passing of singer songwriter, artist, community member, and friend Kelly Fraser. Kelly, I’m going to miss you girl Your light was unreal, and shone so bright.
I will treasure all of the laughs, memories, and moments we shared. I am so honoured that you played so many of your songs for me late in that Toronto hotel after the crazy week of Market Builder program… We vibed out on so many big things… chatted for hours about how we were going to impact and change our communities and this whole industry for the better of our peoples.
I’ll never forget the day we met back in 2015? We met in ceremony, in the sweat lodge. Cried and sang together, bonding over feast afterwards. I’m grateful for all you taught to me… You showed me so much kindness and acceptance, and constantly motivated me to work harder.
You will never ever be forgotten. I love you girl.
**Edited* Friends, I want to apologize for my vague caption on this photo before that only lead to confusion. It’s unbelievably tough to find the words tonight. Turtle Island aches for you, Kelly.
