Friends of Tiyon Farley who was among those killed in the shooting took to social media to share their concern and to pay tribute to Tiyon Farley life and legacy.
Tiyon Farley my nephew was a victim of gun violence at the Orinda Halloween Mansion that was reported last night. Tiyon who close family and friends endearingly called Yunnie was beautiful, handsome, mild mannered, quite spoken kid.
He would come to SF to visit his grandpa Wendell which is how we met several years ago in my house. I joked with Yunnie about that he’s way ahead in life was to get an education and go to college.
I said, “son these streets don’t have nothing for you”. We’d run into each other over the years. I saw Yunnie a few months ago, I was glad to see my son and nephew. He proudly told me that he was attending junior college. I was beaming with pride and told him to keep it up.
A couple hours ago I learned from his grandpa Wendell that he was one of the four victims fatally shot at the Orinda Mansion staging a Halloween party.
As yet the perpetrator remains at large. We need to be vigilant about Gun Sense Laws and apply them stringently. Gun Violence is tearing and annihilating the core of our society as innocent victims are killed.
RIP Yunnie my nephew. And to the other 3 victims killed and injured at the scene. PEACE!
