Statement from the Valimont Family and Griffin First Assembly
On Thursday, October 31st at 4 PM our Pastor, Father, Mentor, and Friend went home to be with his Lord. We are grateful for the multitudes of prayer on his behalf. In this moment, we ask that you continue to pray for the Lord’s covering and the Holy Spirit’s peace to permeate our family and life.
Thank you for your concern, but we ask that you allow us, the family, to grieve and respect our privacy during this moment.
The Lord has surrounded us with beautiful lifelong friends in this community and around the world. As one large family of Christ and community of Griffin, we will grieve and grow together.
Pastor trusted the Lord. He leaned on him for guidance and dedicated his life to him. We will continue to do the same. The Lord has never left us. He has never forsaken us. Even in this moment his presence is thick.
Our Father never looked to the left or the right but pressed on toward Gods will. Let us turn our face toward him in gratefulness and praise his name. He is still holy and has never changed.
One church can change the world. Pastor believes in this message and lived it out daily. His life has affected so many and his soul lives on in this church. Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as possible so we might celebrate his life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Missions fund at Griffin First Assembly so that we can fulfill pastors dream of building a bigger lifeboat.
Thank you for you prayers. We appreciate you love and concern.

Our hearts are broken tonight after hearing of the passing of our dear friend Dr Randy Valimont!! We were driving to Pooler this afternoon when Bro Moon called to tell us, we were both in shock and disbelief!! He was a very dear friend, a great Pastor, Husband, Father, Granddad but I think he will be remembered most for his love of .
Missions!! He probably raised more money for Missions than anyone I ever knew, think my husband gained some of his love for Missions from him.
He and David had just recently played golf together at a Missions fundraiser! I can’t imagine how this has affected his sweet wife, Jelly, his children, grandchildren, his church!! Just praying for peace and strength during these difficult days!
We will sure miss you Randy Valimont, but I know you have heard those words we all long to hear “well done thou good and faithful servant”!!!A dear friend, Pastor Randy Valimont, went to his eternal reward today. It just doesn’t seem possible. He had just sent a text telling me, “all is well, Brad, thanks for the prayers.” Randy was an amazing man of God who served admirably as a husband, father, pastor, as well as, a leader both at the District & National levels in the Assemblies of God.The church he pastored, First Assembly of God, Griffin, Georgia was always among the Fellowship’s leaders in missionary giving. Please remember his wife, Jelly and the entire family in your prayers.
