Former national football player Anuar Abu Bakar passed away on Monday (May 6) evening after weeks of battling stage four liver cancer.
This was confirmed in a Facebook post by Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).
“The Johor Darul Ta’zim FC family express our deepest condolences to the family of late Anuar Abu Bakar, former Johor and national team player Al-Fatihah.”
The late Anuar, who turned 48 on April 28, played for Johor, Selangor, Kelantan, MPPJ and Penang in the 1990s and early 2000’s.
From 1991 to 1997, the midfielder played for Malaysia 49 times and scored 13 goals. According to Malaysian News THESTAR
