Actress Ilinca Tomoroveanu, the artistic director of the Bucharest National Theater, died yesteray, May 2, at age 77.
Ilinca Tomoroveanu died shortly after 19.00, at home, with her husband Traian Stanescu standing next to her . The 77-year-old actress lost the fight with the disease she suffered for many years.
Her last performed role was in Avalanşa, a play directed by Radu Afrim in 2010. She was a graduate of the Bucharest Theater and Cinematography Institute.
She was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit as Commander (2004) and was named the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (2012).
The inanimate body of the actress will be buried today, May 3, starting at 4:30 pm, at the chapel of the Mavrogheni Church (4 Monetăriei Street).
