After his divorce, Jeff Bezos will retain control of the couple’s Amazon shares.

His ex-wife will will control about 4% of Amazon’s share. She will find herself in control of a whopping $35 billion fortune.

Jeff Bezos, the man who was worth $150 billion few months ago is now worth only $115 Billion today.

The richest man in the world, will remain on top of Forbes richest list, ahead of Bill Gates whose nate worth is valued at $100 billion according to Forbes, Mr. Bezos also will retain voting rights over any additional shares Ms. Bezos receives through a stock split or dividend.

The announcement was made Thursday, April 4 on Twitter by his wife, MacKenzie Bezos , after their divorce final proceedings. “I’m happy to give him all his interests in the Washington Post and Blue Origin,” Jeff Bezos’ space company, says MacKenzie Bezos. “I am happy to have completed this process of dissolving our marriage, with the support of each other,” she writes.

The divorce of the century raised a lot of questions: the Bezos married a quarter of a century ago, soon after amazon was launched, under the law in Washington state, where the couple live, MacKenzie Bezos could have been entitled to half her husband’s assets.

Jeff Bezos and his wife MacKenzie announced their separation on January 9, 2019 in a joint statement on Twitter.

This announcement was obviously accelerated by the National Enquirer , David Pecker’s tabloid, a great friend of Donald Trump, who revealed Mr. Bezos’ adultery with his mistress, Lauren Sanchez.

The revelations heated up Jeff Bezos’s relitionship with his wife of 25 years, leading to this divorce.

MacKenzie Bezos, with about 4% of Amazon share, is thus in control of about $35 Billion fortune, which makes her one of the richest women in the world.

She would rank third behind the French billionaire Francoise Bettencourt-Meyers, heiress of L’Oreal with who control a net worth of($53 billion), and the American Alice Walton, heiress of the distribution empire Walmart who is worth ($45 billion), according to Forbes.

Amazon share was slightly down Thursday 5th April after the couple announced they have finalized their divorce.
